As part of the historic downtown urban renewal initiative, the architects at ASNOVA Bureau successfully executed a highly complex design challenge: harmonizing a new development with the established architectural character of the historic core, upgrading the local transportation infrastructure to meet modern automotive demands, and preserving an active existing daycare facility.
The resulting mixed-use quarter seamlessly reflects the area's distinct cultural spirit while establishing an architectural benchmark for sustainable mid-rise development in the city center. This strategic approach to retrofitting historic municipal quarters—originally plotted during the municipality's formation in 1865—received strong endorsement from both the local administration and the Department of Architecture.
